Played course on September 11th, 2023. The course is not terrible but also not great. The fairways look like they don't get much attention or the tee boxes. The greens honestly were not that bad with the exception of maybe 3-4 holes. The greens do need to be cut and rolled though. Practice areas are slightly below average and they do have a driving range. For a military course it isn't bad but I will say it's over priced for its conditions. If you're looking for a quick play then this is it but don't set expectations high. The course design is actually pretty interesting and makes you think on a few holes for club selection. The course needs more assistance to get it where it needs to be.
So I went to Fort Stewart today to hit some range balls on the driving range, and the token machine was completely locked up and had to confront a staff about it being closed. I played this course two or three times in the past month, and the putting greens are terrible the fairway Are overgrown and the maintenance of the entire facility is subpar. I am not sure who is in charge of running this facility, but plenty of work need to be done to make this facility better for the soldiers, families and retirees that uses this facility. Not to mention if one drop of rain hits , this place completely shut down or automatically goes to car path only. I used to play this course 1 to 2 times a week 2 to 3 years ago the greens were immaculate and the fairways was gorgeous. The clubhouse is very dull and very limited with little to no food is available for the soldiers, families and retirees of this community . I’m sure Fort Stewart can get back to its glorious days of lush putting greens, fairways, and beautiful greens to put on. My two. Cents
