Pretty cool place to stop and check out. Lots of history on the area and a really cool gift shop. Inside the fort they have different buildings with different crafts from the era like candle making etc. If you're down that way you should stop in and check it out it's pretty cool.
You can kinda feel the history of this area.In the summertime you can see the reinactment of daily Life in the Fort.The original settlement is below the replicated Fort alongside the Kentucky River.There are lots of different markers for you to read about information on the area.The campground is nice,but set up for RV's more then tents because the sites are close together. The camp store is well stocked the shower houses are extra clean and newer. They have a recreational building, basketball courts and a nice playground.There is a swimming pool and you have access to the river so you can launch a boat.The 1 negative would be only one short trail from the campground to the fort.Not much trail hiking,but you can walk around the park for a little workout.
