I want to love this driving range, because it's got history and it's near my house. But I have to weigh the pros and cons and the result will most likely be that I'll go to a range at a golf course instead. Let's start with the pros: - friendly staff - good prices - shade, fans, heaters - matts are in good shape - plenty of spots to hit from- no wait Now the cons: - Not allowed to bring golf bag onto range - have to pay for heater - no putting green/ chip area - entrance was a little hidden - turning from 29 south during rush hour is a little unnerving - it hasn't been upgraded in a long time, there is a lot of potential here. The biggest thing that bothered me is the not being able to bring the bag. I frankly don't get the reasoning. Second was the non existence of a putting green. Those two factors really make a big difference to me. Also they could increase their profits by selling more snacks and other paraphernalia.
The only thing good to say is it had balls to hit and a decent range full of grass. The signs do not seem accurate and are in need of replacement. They do not allow you to take in your bag, so you have to pick a few clubs only. Terrible. The mats are so worn its like hitting off concrete. The office is worn down and smells of cat urine. The putt putt course looked overgrown.
