Greens were inconsistent. Price was very high for 9 holes ($22 walking). Hadn't rained in a few days, but the course was soaked. Bunkers were ponds, cart paths were a mess. Made walking the course tough - thought I would save money by not renting the cart - I needed a cart to navigate a few of these spots on the course. The course looks nice from the outside, but once you get out there, there are some definite issues.
I had an extremely disappointing experience at Royal Oak Golf Course. First off, they tried to double charge me for 18 holes, which is completely unacceptable. I had to argue with the staff in an attempt to correct it but they refused. They were very unprofessional about it. They made remarks that we were “too slow” though we were being courteous and waiting for the golfers ahead of us to move on to the next hole before we proceeded. On top of that, the course itself is in horrible condition. The fairways are full of bare patches and weeds, the greens are poorly maintained with numerous divots and uneven surfaces, and the bunkers are more like rock pits than sand traps. It’s clear that this course does not receive the care and attention it needs. I would not recommend this golf course to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere that values its customers and maintains its grounds properly.
