Reviews
First, I want to echo all of the positive comments about this driving range. The artificial turf mats are nice, there are plenty of targets at various distances, and the availability of some covered tees is a nice bonus on a rainy day. The only criticism I will offer is this. This driving range, like some others, is more designed around the idea of hitting off of artificial mats rather than actual grass. For the average golfer, the single most common mistake we all make is hitting the ground behind the ball. When hitting from artificial mats, you can get away with that and still see good ball flights, lulling you into a false sense of accomplishment. Then, when you go out on the golf course and have to hit shots from real grass, you wonder why you don’t see results as good as you had on the driving range. To me, the purpose of going to a driving range is to work on improving your swing, and if the artificial mats hide your mistakes, then you aren’t really accomplishing anything (other than maybe getting some exercise). For these reasons, I would encourage this driving range (and all of them) to dedicate way more space to actual grass hitting areas, rather than artificial mats. I get it, it’s more difficult and more expensive to do that, but it definitely makes your time on the driving range more realistic and therefore more productive.
This is a great driving range, I love that there is a covered pavilion (with fans) that you can use. The owners are always around and it is nice to be able to talk to them. Their prices are also pretty fair for the bucket of golf balls. If you go in the evening you can see deer on the outskirts of the range.
