Sequoyah State Park

First off, this place is huge! You definitely need to view the map and plan your trip or you may end up driving around aimlessly and get lost. There’s so much to do here: docks, cabins, hiking, restaurants, hotel, golf course, fishing, etc. When we first drove through it we were quite overwhelmed and confused. We stayed at an AirBNB in the RV park directly across the street and the kids wanted to go fishing. It was good that the AirBNB host is very familiar with the area. He helped us buy bait, let us borrow his fishing poles and directed us where to fish. I’ve tried fishing several times with my kids - in Washington State and Arizona to no avail. Of course, I’m not very familiar with fishing so I don’t know best practices. However, in less than a minute of casting, my children started catching fish. They caught 8 within a hour! It was refreshing to see them finally catch something after over a year of not catching anything.
