Whst a fun horse trail ride that my 3 girlfriends and I did over our girls trip. Not just a flat smooth trail, up side if mountain, rocky somewhat steep terrain. I would do it again, the other three might not so quickly, they were a bit terrified at spots, but I thought it was a fun ride.
We had a great time on the short mountain trail as two beginners and the horses were very friendly, and quite snacky, stopping to snag bites of bushes as we went. The trail is steep and interesting, and the price was very reasonable, even offering a cash discount. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars was because it didn’t feel very organized yet. Our wrangler seemed concerned about her horse being too fatigued after an all day ride the day before, and she herself seemed very fatigued and not thrilled to be the guide that morning. We didn’t catch her name until we were on the horses and only because I asked. She did introduce us to each of our horses by name, but there was no safety chat and just a quick explanation of the reins. My 16 year old was a little scared at first because his horse kept moving forward on his own accord and several times he called out to our wrangler asking, um is this okay?? On our actual trek, our wrangler was very sweet and chatted with our group along the way. I recommend it for the short rides, but I was advised by locals not to do longer day or overnight rides because if the horses aren’t properly fed or cared for on your long journey, they become less predictable.
