We came here for the ScareGrounds which we had purchased tickets for in advance. The side ticket shows was not quite what we had expected, but we were still able to do some fun activities. We purchased VIP so we did not have to wait in what looked to be about 30 minute lines. The actual ride selection at the amusement park was limited and there was only ride that we wanted to go on, which I could not ride due to size. Rather than purchasing a $40 bracelet we got a single ride ticket for $13. The carousel and the mini train ride are free to ride. We found parking easily and used the website to pay and skip waiting at the kiosk. Overall a fun little amusement park but nothing special especially for guests of larger size.
Oaks Park, located just 3mi south of downtown, is a small amusement park that has been operating since 1905, making it one of the oldest running amusement parks in the U.S. On the 4th of July, we decided to walk there since it's not directly accessible by public transportation. However, we got stranded on our way back due to the lack of transport. Thankfully, two kind strangers offered us a ride. While I didn’t get a chance to make new friends because I was busy enjoying the rides, my roommate did—she opted out of the rides since she doesn't like them. The pictures are from our walk on the way to the amusement park. This spot is often used for small corporate gatherings, including those by Moda Health.
