Betts Campground

The staff were very nice and helpful. They made a special trip to our site to deliver us a tourist pamphlet. The campground has a lot of trees that protects your RV from the elements. It was close to the famous Corn Palace, which is why we were there. Unfortunately, the sites are very narrow and your neighbors are WAY TOO CLOSE. We were camped next to unsupervised teen boys. They started a campfire, (too close to our RV), and they were burning toxic smelling garbage and cans, making all kinds of noise, slamming doors, loud music. Our trailer filled up with smoke and it was difficult to breathe. At one point, several beater trucks pulled in and blocked our site driveway. We called the manager/host at 1045pm to let them know about the trucks. The manager was there quickly in his golf cart and drove by a few times but nothing changed. In the morning we had to alert the manager again to have the truck in the site next to us moved so we could get out. It appeared these were friends of the managers, as she was given the truck keys to move his vehicle. There was a lot more loud partying and music throughout the campground and it finally settled down around midnight. The reviews for this campground were very positive which is why we chose this place. My suggestion would be to not have fire rings at those inside sites, as they are too close to other trailers. Also, there should be a specific area for the “live in’s”, as sometimes these can be a big part of the problem. I hope that our experience was an isolated incident as the managers are such nice people.
